O.P.I. Red Lights Ahead…Where?

Ok so…it’s been a while I’ve been really busy this week, barley had time to breathe and eat so my nails were kind of the last thing I was thinking about (lucky for me my nail polish lasted a decent amount of time).

Today I give you…OPI Red Lights Ahead…Where? from the Holland collection released this spring.

First coat was really disappointing: sheer and plain ugly. The second one was better. Well, it got ok by the fourth.

I hated it at first. Badly! But as the days went by I fell hopelessly in love with it. It’s such a wonderful shade of red, so bright (almost neon) and sort of chameleonic – in some lights it looks bright red, in others it’s a little towards pink or just a beautiful shade of orange.

I really really love it! I mean…how could I not? The pictures speak for themselves (yup, I had to post three – the last one is the most colour accurate):

Electric Tiara or Lorelei’s Beat? :)

Today I have another mani from the Electropop colection for you.

This time I used Electric beat as a base, a lovely dusty blue that reminds me of a clear summer’s sky and layerd Lorelei’s Tiara (Eye Candy collection) on top using a sponge. I quite like how it turned out, I’ve been staring at my nails all day

Formula is amazing, really easy to apply. I love it when cremes are like that. And I have a hunch that all the polishes from this collection have a wonderful formula. Good thing I got most of them.

China Glaze Aquadelic

Last week I recieved these beauties in the mail:

: Make Some Noise, Aquadelic, Electric Beat, White Out

The first three are part of China Glaze’s spring collection, Electropop, while the last one, White Out was released for the 2010 Holidays (I needed a white polish). I’m still expecting two more from this collection: Gothic lollita and Wicked style.

I was super excited but had zero time to try them last week and only got around to it on Sunday. I chose Aquadelic to do my mani and, because I wanted a little more than just simple nails, I added a konad design over it. Heck, it looked ok, so why not add some french tips and ruin it?

I’m not happy at all with the tips. I used tape to do them but they’re far from perfect (and I do need them nice and sharp). Well, maybe next time.

The formula was great, really easy to apply (for a cream) and the colour is wonderful! It does reming me a bit of For Audrey except I like this one (For Audrey is a little too much blue and too little green for my taste).

Have you tried anything from the Electropop collection? Did anything catch your eye?

China Glaze Eye Candy

When I first saw the Eye Candy Collection nothing really screamed “MUST HAVE” to me. And then I saw Lorelei’s Tiara on Alexa’s Blog and decided it has to be mine.

And because, of course, I couldn’t buy just one, I got Some Like it Haute as well.

The picture really doesn’t do it justice. It’s so beautiful (eye candy, really!) – small silver glitter and bigger, hexagonal, blue glitter in a clear base. I did 3 coats but could have gotten away with two if I wasn’t such a perfectionist.

The down side is that it’s a huge top coat eater (well, what do I expect from glitters?) and it chips quite easily. But hey, I can live with that seeing that it’s so pretty. Oh yeah, removing it is a bi**h (pardon my french )! I dipped cotton pads in acetone, placed them over my nails and wrapped them in aluminum foil for about 5 minutes and it was a lot easier (removing it the normal way is near to impossible).

This one was rather a pain to apply but I managed a decent job. I think it looks better in pictures than on the nail. I like it, but not as much as I expected. It’s a lot of small black glitter (actually a very dark grey), a bit of small silver and holo hex glitter. Yup, that’s a lot of glitter (you can see a close-up in the picture below).

Overall I think they’re pretty awesome, even though they don’t last very long and are kind of hard to remove.

I got them both from Beauty in The Bottle (if you’re from Romania I highly recomend it).
